Introduction Of HSK

The Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK) is an internationally recognized standardized test that assesses the Chinese language proficiency of non-native speakers. Administered by the National Chinese Proficiency Test Committee under China’s Ministry of Education, the HSK evaluates the ability to use Chinese in daily, academic, and professional contexts.

Exam Structure

The HSK consists of six levels, each corresponding to a specific proficiency tier:

  • HSK Level 1: Recognizes basic knowledge of Chinese characters and simple sentences.
  • HSK Level 2: Indicates the ability to communicate in simple tasks requiring direct information exchange.
  • HSK Level 3: Demonstrates the capacity to conduct basic communication in daily, academic, and professional settings.chinesetest.cn+1China Education Center+1
  • HSK Level 4: Reflects the ability to discuss a wide range of topics and interact fluently with native speakers.
  • HSK Level 5: Shows proficiency in reading newspapers and magazines, watching Chinese films, and delivering speeches.
  • HSK Level 6: Certifies the ability to comprehend written and spoken information with ease and express oneself effectively in Chinese.

Each exam assesses four key language skills

    1. Listening Comprehension
    2. Reading Comprehension
    3. Writing Skills (starting from HSK Level 3)

Additionally, the HSK Speaking Test (HSKK) evaluates oral proficiency and is divided into three levels:

    • HSKK (Beginner Level)
    • HSKK (Intermediate Level)
    • HSKK (Advanced Level)

The HSKK is conducted via audio recordings.
